Bringing More than 100 Years of Experience, Connecticut Electric’s New Complete Line of RV Electrical Products Keep RVers Powered Up
For Connecticut Electric, the motto has always been “We power people’s homes”, and with a growing number of people around the world buying RVs and spending more time on the road, it only makes sense that the company power not only brick and mortar homes, but those on wheels as well. That’s why Connecticut Electric, Inc. has moved into the RV space with its CE/RV division and a complete line of electrical products to power people’s lives no matter where their home may be.
Don’t Worry; Be Happy (and connected)
According to RV Brands Guide, more than ten million households in the U.S. own an RV. A growing number are even choosing to hit the open road for the holidays (which the publication sites as a 33% increase year over year). A lot of planning goes into RVing – at least for most – as you go through the checklist and pack everything neatly (or haphazardly – we’re not here to judge). From suitcases and snackleboxes to cables, cords, and coolers. Once the RV is hooked up and the vehicle gassed up, the family is ready to go!
With each passing mile, the worries and the responsibilities slowly melt away. That’s what so many like about camping and RVing – the freedom to relax and unwind. One you arrive at your destination, you’ll unpack and plug back in (think coffee pots, hot plates, radios, string lights, etc.), and you can be sure Connecticut Electric will keep you connected as much (or as little) as you want.
“We don’t want you to worry about the lights or the power; we will be there to power your RV adventure so you can enjoy the experience,” said Mike Knudson, Vice President of sales for Connecticut Electric.
CE/RV—Built from Experience You Can Depend On
The Connecticut Electric Manufacturing Company (now known as Connecticut Electric, Inc.) was started back in 1906 in Litchfield, Connecticut by the Trumbull brothers. Since its inception, Connecticut Electric has been a trusted electrical supply company and has remained focused on being the best when it comes to electrical components. In the 20-teens, the team at Connecticut Electric decided to expand into the RV space and CE/RV was born. The folks at Connecticut Electric did not want to be a maker of all things RV though, instead they once again stayed true to the founding principles, focusing solely on electrical so customers could purchase and use their products with confidence.
“We wanted to give them that lifestyle that when they go out to the RV the power is just on,” said Knudson. “They don’t need to worry.”
Electrical Products is all They Do!
When CE/RV first began offering RV products, the company did a lot of business with RV parks. Even if you don’t personally own a CE/RV product yet (or perhaps you haven’t heard of the company before now), you’ve likely used one of their RV panels while out camping. The company enjoys working with the parks and appreciates being the one that many RV park owners turn to for their electrical needs. At the same time, CE/RV saw a need in the market among RV owners themselves, and because of that, the company decided to expand its product line (staying its electrical wheelhouse, of course) and offer it to those behind the wheel.
The comprehensive line includes dozens of products, from RV panels and RV/EV power outlets, to power cords, dogbone adapters, and surge protectors.
Connecticut Electric’s RV panels and power outlets range from 30 AMP up to 80 AMP and feature heavy-duty steel construction with a powder coat finish. The housing for each is a 3R Rainproof enclosure to ensure the electrical components inside stay safe and dry.
The selection of power cords is also made to withstand the abuse of being used outdoors and combines flexibility with a heavy-duty jacket around the wire inside. They’re designed to be used in all types of weather (hot, cold, windy, rainy, etc.) and are fire and oil resistant, making them the perfect choice for long-lasting (and safe) power you can count on.
Surge protectors are one of the newest products in the CE/RV line, but arguably the most needed when it comes to safety, as they protect against unwanted power surges or spikes which can damage the other electrical components you are using.
These products together ensure RVers are covered from the RV panel all the way to the RV. They also allow you to use your RV not only at the campground or park, but at home as well. (Think visits from out-of-town family and friends, or kids back from college.)
Warranties & Safety
For the team at Connecticut Electric, the biggest component of their business is the company’s focus on safety and product warranties. Before they hit store shelves, every product is tested in real-world conditions. This process is done by ETL, or Electrical Testing Laboratories, a division of Intertek that has become a global leader in product testing and certifications. ETL testing duplicates common hazards like shocks, fire risks, and everyday wear and tear to ensure each CE/RV electrical product – and all of its components – is ready to be used safely. ETL listed equipment isn’t tested just once or twice though. Each product and component goes through several tests to ensure the equipment can both withstand rigorous use and to mitigate the risk of fires.
Each product in the CE/RV line is also backed by a NEMA 3R weather-resistant rating, so you know they’re made to last!
To further support their stellar RV product line, CE/RV offers a five-year warranty on all adapters, panels, and surge protectors and a lifetime warranty on all cables! That’s power you can count on, in more ways than one.
